County Adopts New Comprehensive Plan
Jefferson County has a new comprehensive plan. After more than two years of work, the Planning Commission voted on February 25 to accept a final round of amendments to the plan that the County Commission had previously approved in January. With the Planning Commission vote, the “2045 Comprehensive Plan” replaces the previous “Envision Jefferson 2035” document as the guide to future development in Jefferson County. >>>Read more...
County Commission Opposes New Transmission Lines
The Jefferson County Commission voted unanimously to express opposition to two high-voltage transmission lines proposed to be built across the county. The February 20 vote came after a presentation by three local residents concerned about the plan proposed by PJM Interconnection, the operator of the electric grid in the mid-Atlantic region.
